On October 29th at 15:00, a lecture will be held at the History Museum of Armenia for the conclusion of the “Memory of the Yellow River” temporary exhibition. The lecture, entitled “The Belt and Road and the Shanxi Ancient Road: Shanxi Civilization and International Exhibition Narrative” will be given by Gao Zhenhua, deputy director of the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology (with simultaneous translation).
The speaker will discuss China’s Shanxi province’s topographical advantages, rich archaeological heritage and the international significance of it, as well as Shanxi’s role in the formation and development of Chinese civilization. He will also present important archaeological excavations in that region, starting with the first independent fieldwork conducted in 1926 in the Xiyin village of Shanxi Province’s Xia County, which laid the foundation for the scientific traditions of Chinese archaeology.
