The History Museum of Armenia hosted a meeting discussion on the topic “Vorogayt Parats (Snare of Glory) as a draft of the first Constitution”. The meeting was dedicated to the 250th anniversary of the book “Vorogayt Parats“, first printed in the Armenian printing house of Madras, India.
Seda Galstyan, Head of the Modern and Contemporary History Department of the Museum, presented the activities of Shahamir Shahamiryan and his sons from the Indo-Armenian colony, the plans of a liberation movement activist Hovsep Emin and others related to the ways of liberating Armenia from foreign rule. The first Armenian printing house founded by the efforts of Shahamir Shahamiryan, the Armenian Church of Madras, and the first version of the famous Vorogayt Parats were presented through a video slideshow.
Vardan Ayvazyan, Associate Professor, Head of YSU Constitutional Law Chair, presented the important role of the Constitution in our country and made comparisons with the constitutions following it, giving examples from the constitutions of other countries.
At the end of the meeting, the constitutional expert answered the questions of the attendees.
