The History Museum of Armenia hosted the opening ceremony of the temporary exhibition “Documenting the Eternal: Artsakh,” which features more than 50 photos sent by the participants of the contest of the same name. The contest was announced as part of the “Documenting the Eternal: Aram, Ara, Artashes Vruyrs” exhibition.

The presented photos tell us about the endangered Armenian cultural heritage of Artsakh.

Davit Poghosyan, Director of the History Museum, mentioned in his speech that the idea of organizing the exhibition arose based on the situation we have nowadays, because in some sense historical similarities arose with the situation when the Vruyrs were working.

The authors of the best photos selected by the committee in three nominations – Avetis Avetisyan (St. Yeghisha Church of Mataghis), Lilian Galstyan (“We are our Mountains” monument), Elina Aghajanyan (St. Ghazanchetsots Church of Shushi), Nerses Matinyan (Yerits Mankants Monastery), Zohrab Yrkoyan (Bridge, an eastern tributary of Hakari), Sargis Gasapian (The entrance door of the Geological Museum, Stepanakert), Maria Minasyan (Statue of Stepan Shahumyan) – were presented with symbolic awards.
