The department of Cataloguing and Maintaning the HMA collections was founded on March 16, 1960, based on Article 29of the Armenian SSR Government Resolution No. 5/397: “to make structural changes in the museum, to to set up a cataloguing and maintaining department, handing over all museum funds (main, scientific-auxiliary and exhibition) to it.
The Department is responsible for the registration, cataloguing, maintenance, restoration and service of museum objects and collections.
