A remarkable part of the Armenian embroidery art is carpet pattern and carpet-type fabrics, the earliest examples of which date back to the 17th-18th centuries. Later, from the middle of the 19th century to the middle of the 20th century, cross-stitched carpets, pillowcases and other items that replicated the motifs of Armenian carpets and rugs became widespread among Armenians. On February 17, at 16:00, the History Museum of Armenia will host a lecture entitled “Armenian Carpet Pattern and Carpet Type Embroidery,” dedicated to the features of artistic fabric and its role in national culture.
The lecture will be conducted by Karine Bazeyan, Ph.D., associate professor.
Entrance with a museum ticket.
