The History Museum of Armenia hosted a lecture on the topic “Carpet Motifs in the Armenian Costume Ornamentation System”, conducted by ethnographer Svetlana Poghosyan, PhD.
The speaker presented the use and variety of carpet ornaments in the costume sets kept at the History Museum of Armenia. She also spoke about the ornamental compositions of aprons, which are seamless and considered to be prototypical of women’s costume parts. They stylistically resemble the ornamentation of pileless and pile carpets.
