Davit Ashoti Zakaryan (September 30, 2000, Yerevan, – September 27, 2020, Mataghis).
In addition to his academic pursuits, he engaged in chess and honed his culinary skills. The year 2019 marked the beginning of his military service in Mataghis. Tragically, on the inaugural day of the war, September 27, 2020, amid intense and relentless combat, Zakaryan displayed exceptional bravery by aiding in the evacuation of a fallen comrade from the battlefield, relocating him to the trench. It was during the receipt of a retreat order that Zakaryan, standing alongside his fallen friend, became forever immortalized. Davit was a vibrant, amiable, and proactive individual who approached his military service with a positive spirit. He and his friends built a chapel in a holy place that he used to cherish. He had many goals in life, and used to say, “There are so many things to do, I don’t even know where to start.” He also wrote a poem when he was young, which had the lines, “I am sure that we will win; we will win because together we are a powerful force.”
