Edgar Hovakim Hambardzumyan

Edgar Hovakim Hambardzumyan. Senior sergeant, (July 28, 2000, Yerevan – October 2, 2020, Mataghis).

In 2006 – 2015 he studied in Yerevan secondary school # 66, then contined his study in Yerevan State Sports College of the Olympic Games. He was the best boxer, he always returned from competitions with medals and diplomas. He liked the nature, animals. In 2019 he enlisted the Armenian army, and began his service in Mataghis. He dreamed to come back from army and to continue his education in Physical Trainig University. During his service, he was characterized by his organizational, strict, and disciplined behavior. He received a rank of senior sergeant. On the next day of war – on September 28 the commander of battalion and the officer died, and Edgar took the responsibilities of commander. 3 days later Edgar was wounded, but ignoring his condition, he organized the hospitalization of other injured friends and heavily moved them up to another battalion. He also needed to be hospitalized, but ignored his condition, saying that he must be near his friends. During his last call, he spoke with his family members, said that everything is good. He died on October 2, from a bomb explosion, faughting with his friends against enemy in Mataghis. Their choise was the slogan “Conscious death is immortality”.
