Yuri Hayk Aghasaryan (December 9, 2001, Yerevan – September 27, 2020, Martuni-2).

In 2008, Yuri began his education at A. School No. 55 named after Chekhov. Alongside his studies, he actively participated in sports, engaging in activities such as swimming, wrestling, and karate. Yuri dedicated seven years to his education at the school. Subsequently, the family relocated to Russia, initially settling in the city of Skhodnya in 2015. In 2018, they moved to Krasnodar, where Yuri continued his education at Law College. On January 28, 2020, Yuri answered the call of duty and was conscripted into service in Artsakh, in the Martuni-2 defense military unit. Despite facing health problems that could have granted him a release, Yuri, driven by a sense of duty and against the wishes of his parents, chose to honorably fulfill his commitment to his motherland.  He is remembered as a friendly, caring, compassionate, humorous, and generous individual. On September 27, he demonstrated remarkable bravery alongside his comrades in arms, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. Using his D-30 artillery, Yuri played a crucial role in shooting down a D-30 and a KAMAZ, resulting in substantial human casualties on the opposing side. On the first day of the battle, Yuri was immortalized along with three of his friends by an anti-aircraft fire. His heroic exploits did not go unnoticed, and he was posthumously awarded the “Medal of Courage”.
