On 9 November, as part of the international exhibition “Mother Goddess: From Anahit to Mary”, the History Museum of Armenia hosted a lecture on “Women in the Kingdom of Van (Urartu)” by Professor Ashot Piliposyan.
During his speech, the speaker presented the data preserved in the Urartian cuneiform inscriptions on the concept of “woman”, referring to the status of women in the Kingdom of Van, the appearance and dress, the daily life and occupation of Urartian women, as well as the participation of women in the holidays, ceremonies and rituals of the Kingdom of Van.
After the speech, the participants visited the exhibition “Mother Goddess: From Anahit to Mary”.
