The History Museum of Armenia hosted Nune Teryan, Coordinator of the Currency Issue and Numismatics Centre of the Financial Markets Department of the Central Bank of Armenia, and Anzhela Gevorgyan, specialist of the same centre, who conducted a lecture on “Notes and Coins of the Republic of Armenia in 1993-2023”.
The speakers presented the 30-year journey of the national currency of the Republic of Armenia – the dram – into circulation. Reference was made to the series of circulating banknotes and coins issued during the 30 years of the Armenian dram, as well as other types of notes and coins: collector banknotes, circulating commemorative coins, collector coins, and investment coins.
They talked about the latest technologies in the field of security printing and the security properties of the RA 3rd series banknotes. The education-oriented mobile application “ARMENIAN DRAM 3.0” for smartphones running iOS and Android operating systems was also presented.
