The History Museum of Armenia hosted the official opening of the temporary exhibition “Czech Castles and Chateaux” organised jointly with the National Museum of the Czech Republic. The exhibition presents photographs and three-dimensional reconstructions of castles and chateaux selected from two historical regions of the Czech Republic: Bohemia and Moravia.
Davit Poghosyan, Director of the Museum, made an opening speech and noted that this event marks the beginning of an important collaboration between the History Museum of Armenia and the National Museum of the Czech Republic, emphasising the importance of the presence of the presidents of the national assemblies of the two countries at the launch.
Petr Pirunčík, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to RA, thanked both museums for holding the exhibition.
Petr Brůha, Deputy of the General Director of the Czech National Museum, informed that 25 castles and chateaux were included in the exposition. He also expressed hope that an Armenian exhibition would be organised in Prague as well.
The opening of the exhibition was followed by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two museums, which strengthens collaboration between the institutions and plans to implement a number of joint projects. Then, accompanied by Davit Poghosyan, Director of the Museum, the guests toured the permanent exposition of the museum, after which Markéta Pekárová Adamová, President of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, made an entry in the book of guests and visitors of the museum. It should also be noted that the exhibition was organised with the support of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in the Republic of Armenia.
The exhibition will be open until 31 March.
