Aramayis Suren Hayrapetyan
( 26.09.1992 – 08.11.2020 )
Aramayis Suren Hayrapetyan, Medical Service Captain, (September 26, 1992, Zovuni, Kotayk region – November 8, 2020, Martuni 2).
From 2009 to 2017, he pursued his Bachelor of Medicine at Yerevan State University. In 2019-2020, he served as the head of the medical service for PB 36534 (Martuni) in the RA Armed Forces. On the third day of his engagement, on October 1, he voluntarily departed for Martuni 2. Alongside three friends, they revisited regions where they had previously served during their school years. His motivation was simple but profound: “Well, those children (soldiers) need help, I have to go. I know every nook and cranny; I can’t help but go.” On November 8, Aramayis Sureni Hayrapetyan lost his life while rushing to aid another wounded person. His passing occurred due to a mine explosion on the hill known as Ghuruchukh. In recognition of his bravery and selfless service, he was posthumously awarded the “Courage” medal. In 2021, the Medical University commemorated his sacrifice by dedicating a “You proudly gave your duty, we owe you” honor board and auditorium in the name of 29 fallen doctors, including Aramayis.
