Artur Gagik Khachatryan was born on December 19, 1989, in Yerevan and passed away on October 21, 2020, in Ishkhanadzor.
Along with his academic studies, he was a student of the specialized fencing school of Noragavit, and actively participated in many national tournaments, winning several awards. He studied at the Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture in Armenia, and from 2010-2011 he attended the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Institute of the RA Ministry of Defense. After completing his studies, he joined the military unit of the 5th defense unit of the NKR Defense Army as a platoon commander (Martakert) with the rank of lieutenant. Later he was appointed as a senior officer of the line unit of the same military unit. In recognition of his service, he was awarded the title of captain in 2015. He played a significant role in the April 2016 four-day war and the 2019 conflict. He served as the head of the AF ARMAMENT DEPARTMENT in the 56416 military unit of the RA Ministry of Defense. Engaging in the hotspots of the 2nd Artsakh war from September 27, 2020, he lost his life on October 21, 2020, in Ishkhanadzor (Jabrayil) due to a Smerch attack. Married with two daughters, he rests in peace at Yerablur.
