As part of the “European Heritage Days: Living Heritage” event, on August 26, at 18:00, a lecture-tour “Armenian Carpet: A Living Witness of Identity” will be held in the carpet exhibition hall of the History Museum of Armenia. The speech will be conducted by Lilia Avanesyan, PhD, researcher of the Ethnography Department of the Museum.
The speech will be followed by an important and long-awaited event.
Within the framework of the exhibition “Fragments of Identity: Carpet”, in cooperation with the museum’s partner “Megerian Carpet” cultural complex, the ceremony of cutting a carpet, woven for months in the above-mentioned exhibition hall in front of the visitors and sometimes with their participation, will be held. This carpet is a reproduction of one of the exhibited carpets, a 19th-century “Astghahavk” type carpet.
Entry to the event is free.
