On October 29th, the conclusion and closing ceremony of the “Memory of the Yellow River” temporary international exhibition was held at the History Museum of Armenia.
As a reminder, the exhibition was organized by the collaboration of the History Museum of Armenia, the Shanxi Museum, and the “Armenia-China Partnership Center” NGO.
In her opening speech, Arusyak Ghazaryan, Deputy Director for Development of the Museum, emphasized that the exhibition, open for about three months, not only gave an opportunity for Armenian visitors to engage directly with ancient Chinese cultural heritage, but was also notable for the fact that because of the collaboration with the Shanxi Museum of China, original Chinese archaeological artifacts were displayed in Armenia for the first time, which manifested in important Armenian-Chinese cultural dialogue and partnership.
In the scope of the event, Gao Zhenhua, Deputy Director of the Institute of Archaeology of Shanxi Province, delivered a lecture entitled “The Belt and Road and the Shanxi Ancient Road: Shanxi Civilization and International Exhibition Narrative.”
The speaker discussed Shanxi’s topographical features, important archaeological excavations done in the region, as well as the role of Shanxi’s archaeological heritage in the formation and development of Chinese civilization.
Following this, the delegation, headed by Deputy Director of the Institute of Archaeology of Shanxi Province, Gao Zhenhua, toured the permanent and temporary exhibition halls of the Museum.
