On July 25th, the lecture of art historian, clothing designer, and handicraft master Sophie Khachmanyan on “The Iconography of the Vestments of the Catholicos within the Medieval Armenian Miniature” took place at the History Museum of Armenia.
The speaker presented the history of the origins and development of the ceremonial vestments of the spiritual leader of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Catholicos of All Armenians, as well as speaking about the meaning and symbolism of the ornaments, colors, and other elements contained within them.
