A lecture-tour “Carpet: Fragments of Identity” was held at the History Museum of Armenia, which was conducted by Lilia Avanesyan, Researcher of the Ethnography Department of the museum, Candidate of Historical Sciences. During the speech, Lilia Avanesyan presented the role of the carpet in Armenian culture, the origin and development of carpet weaving, the types of wool, the process of receiving and dyeing threads, and emphasised the characteristic features of Armenian carpet art.
Then, the participants had a tour of the exhibition hall “Fragments of Identity: Carpet,” where Lilia Avanesyan presented the features of the displayed carpets and spoke about the types and semantics of carpet ornaments.
