On June 13, as part of the “European Archaeology Days” event, a panel discussionentitled “Archaeology as a Profession: A Dialogue between Generations” was held at the History Museum of Armenia. The discussion was moderated by Nzhdeh Yeranyan, PhD, Deputy Science Director of the History Museum of Armenia. During the discussion, Professor Dr. Ashot Piliposyan, and Associate Professor Benik Vardanyan, PhD, Researcher-Curator of the Department of Archaeology and Numismatics of the History Museum of Armenia, spoke about the current problems in the field. The speakers presented the priority issues in the field: the gap in legal regulations, the frequency of cases of vandalism and treasure theft, the lack of young personnel, etc. They also touched upon the integration of artificial intelligence in the process of archaeological work and excavations. At the end of the discussion, a question and answer session was held.
