On the initiative of the History Museum of Armenia, a lecture entitled “Van Self-Defense Battles, their Role and Significance” dedicated to the 106th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, was held at the Artists’ Union of Armenia, on April 22.

Hamo Sukiasyan, senior researcher of the HMA Department of the New and Modern History, candidate of sciences (History) and assistant professor, delivered the  lecture.

During the lecture, the speaker emphasized the role of Van self-defense, which later became the basis of establishing the first Republic of Armenia.
