Hrayr Mher Danielyan (July 22, 1997, Nor Shen village, Martuni region, Republic of Artsakh – October 15, 2020, Tutak district, Tsakuri village, Hadrut region)
On September 1, 2003, Hrayr entered the Kh. Abovyan School No. 1 in Stepanakert, and from 2009 he continued his studies at Muratsan High School in Shushi. In 2014 he enrolled in the Law Department of the Faculty of Economics and Law of Artsakh State University.
In 2015 he was drafted and served in the military unit 35383 of the Defense Army as the commander of the 3rd artillery platoon of the 2nd artillery battery of the D-20 artillery division.
He participated in the combat operations of the April 2016 war. During his service he was awarded the “Best Soldier-Athlete”, “Excellent” and “Brave Warrior” badges of the Armenian Army, as well as numerous certificates of honor. In 2017 he completed his compulsory military service with the rank of Senior Sergeant and continued his studies at the Artsakh State University.
He graduated from the University of Artsakh in 2020 and on August 15th of the same year, he began serving in the Economic and Corruption Crimes Department of the National Police of the Republic of Artsakh as an operations officer. He held the rank of Police Lieutenant.
Since the first day of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh on September 27, 2020, H.M. Danielyan has directly participated in the combat operations conducted for the defense of the Republic of Artsakh. From September 27 to 29, 2020, he performed combat duty in the combat positions of the 34153rd military unit of the Defense Army, from October 1 to 3, 2020, he performed service on a special mission in the Martuni region of the Artsakh Republic, from October 5 to 13, 2020 – in the combat positions of the 49971st military unit of the Defense Army.
While performing another mission in the war, Hrayr received severe shrapnel injuries incompatible with life from an enemy UAV attack and died on October 15 in the area called Tutak, in the administrative area of the village of Tsakuri, Hadrut region, Republic of Artsakh.
Hrayr’s greatest dream was impersonal: to see the homeland as a powerful, secure, developed country with historical geographical borders, with the reunification of Artsakh, Western Armenia and all the lost territories.
He was a perfectionist in everything and had many dreams, but the ideal of his life was the restoration of historical justice.
By the decree of the President of the Republic of Artsakh N537-А dated November 3, 2020, Hrayr Danielyan was posthumously awarded the medal “For Courage”.
