Israel Gagik Akinyan (August 4, 2001, Yerevan – October 15, 2020, Jrakan).
Was actively engaged in karate sports. He achieved remarkable success, earning several medals and coaching awards, including a “black belt” coaching degree at just 14 years old. His ultimate goal was to attend the Physical Education Institute after completing his military service and become a professional karate coach. In January 2020, he was drafted into the army and served in Vorotan. On October 2, Israel Gagiki Akinyan sustained a splinter injury to his elbow in Jrakan. Despite being hospitalized for five days, he chose to return to his comrades, declaring that he wouldn’t leave them alone. On October 15, 2020, Israel sacrificed his life for the motherland. He was posthumously honored with the “Combat Service” medal, number 10340, recognizing his dedication and bravery.
