Khachik Martiros Poghosyan, junior sergeant, artilleryman, commander of the calculation (October 28, 2000, Yerevan – October 2, 2020, Susuzluk Mountain of Karvachar).
Along with his school studies, Khachik was involved in various sports, including chess, swimming, karate, basketball, and more. He actively participated in numerous national competitions, earning certificates and medals for his achievements. He was also a member of the military-patriotic pan-Armenian youth NGO “Zhayr.” In 2017, Khachik was admitted to the Faculty of Law at Yerevan State University (YSU). He was drafted into the military from his second year of studies and served in the Lusakert military unit for six months. In January 2020, he was transferred to the Sotk military unit, where he carried out combat service in the Karvachar region. During the war, Khachik demonstrated exceptional skill by providing competent and accurate calculations, successfully targeting many armored vehicles and enemy personnel. Tragically, on October 2, after completing a combat task in the Susuzluk area of Karvachar, he sustained fatal injuries from a drone strike. His dream of traveling with his beloved girl, Gohar, was left unfulfilled. Khachik was posthumously awarded the “Combat Service” medal in recognition of his bravery and dedication.
