Sargis Rafayel Sahinyan (1984, Town Abovyan – October 13, 2020, Jabrayil).
He studied in Balahovit secondary school, parallel he attended boxing trainings. After graduating the school, he served in Military Forces of RA. Later he continued his service in NATO peacekeeping troops, he travelled to Afghanistan. By returning Armenia, he participated in April 2016 war, he was on forefront during 25 days – in Talish. He awarded a medal “Admiral Isakov”. Being a member of peacekeeping troops, he travelled to Kosovo. He awarded a certificate of honour and medal from NATO. After finishing the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, he received a certificate of honour from DA of RA. He moved to Artsakh 2-nd war as a volunteer and was on forefront since the first day of war. He dreamed to see his motherland in peace. He said: “I’m going to fight for my Daniel and Rafo, let’s they will never pass the same way…” He forecasted, that will become immortal, will be famous. When his mother asked him not to go to war, he said: “I didn’t know, that you aren’t patriot”. On October 13 Sargis became immortal in Jabrayil, from a drone explosion. He was married, he had 3 adult children, they were waiting the 4-th. After Sargis was burried, his wife lost the kid… Sargis awarded medal “For Martial Service”.
