Zaven Hovhannes Yesayan, artilleryman (21.07.2000 – 25.10.2020)
Zaven Yesayan graduated from Yerevan High School No. 108 in 2018 with excellent grades. During his school years, he participated in various activities such as light athletics, painting, dancing, and kickboxing. In 2018, he got admission to Yerevan Engineering University on a free basis. However, he had to leave for army service and spent his first six months in Lusakert, where he received the rank of junior sergeant. After that, he continued his service in NKR. During the early days of the war, Zaven participated in the battles of Jarakan (Jabrayil) as an artilleryman. Later, he moved to Martuni, where he participated in local battles. After his equipment was taken out of service, he continued to fight with other equipment, despite disobeying his commander’s order to go down to the military unit. Zaven Yesayan passed away on October 25. His aunt once shared, “Now I look at the sky to see where the stars are shining the brightest. At what point does the sky have the brightest light? Zaven is at that point. I am sure that it cannot be any other way. Words fall on their knees…”
