On 14 August at 16:00, the History Museum of Armenia will reopen the permanent exhibition “Armenia in Historical Maps”.

The exhibition presents historical maps in which Armenia is mentioned. Also on display are digital photocopies of 15 maps made at different times and in different places. The oldest of them is the Babylonian clay tablet (6th century BC); the maps date from the 6th to the 20th century.

The opening will be followed by a lecture “Map and History” by geographer and cartographer Ruben Galichian. During the lecture, the author will refer to the historical cartography of Armenia and present the position of Armenia on ancient maps.
