Starting from June 19, 2026 the History Museum of Armenia will host the Japan Foundation’s traveling, temporary exhibition titled “YAKISHIME: Earth Metamorphosis” organized in collaboration with the History Museum of Armenia and the Embassy of Japan.

This exhibition presents the history of Yakishime, a ceramic tradition developed in Japan, through works from its origins to the present day. It introduces Japanese aesthetics as reflected in tea utensils, tableware, and contemporary ceramic objects, as well as the cultural background associated with them.

The exhibition was implemented with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia, and the Japan Foundation.

The exhibition will run until July 10.

The exhibition is included in the History Museum of Armenia admission ticket and does not require any additional fee.
