On October 28, at 11:00, a meeting-tour with Nairi Khatchadourian, art historian and curator of the exhibition “Voices from Our Collective Past”, will be held at the History Museum of Armenia.

What individual and collective stories do Armenian carpets tell? Handwoven by Armenian masters in the 19th century in villages located kilometers apart from each other, they speak the same language, how come?During the tour, Nairi Khatchadourian will provide deeper insights into those questions deployed throughout the exhibition and share her experience in collaborating with carpet collector James Tufenkian. The curator will also give a broader context of Armenian carpet making history, the research needs in the academic field, and the proactive actions to initiate in our contemporary fragile environment caused by the ethnic cleansing of Artsakh.

Free admission.
