Rafik Arsen Hakobyan (October 25, 2000, Garnarich, Shirak region – October 13, 2020, Mataghis)
He originates from the village of Gandza in Javakhk. After completing his schooling, he was enlisted in the army and served as a skilled tanker in Mataghis for six months. Rafik was known for his hard work and his love for football, which he played throughout the year regardless of the weather. Along with his friends, he fought in dangerous areas, and they were surrounded in the initial days of the war. Although the tank was hit, the commander was able to rescue Rafik. Unfortunately, Rafik passed away on October 13th. His body was discovered 105 days after his death, and he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Courage by the President of Artsakh.
