On March 17, the History Museum of Armenia hosted a lecture on the topic “The Strength of the Armenian Army and its Firearms in the 1720s,” which was delivered by Armen Ayvazyan, PhD (History) and D.Sc. (Political Science). In the 1720s, in Eastern Armenia, with a national-liberation programme, the combat-ready Armenian forces descended on the historical stage. Their numerical strength, according to reliable estimates from both Armenian and foreign sources, reached tens of thousands of fighters. The speaker discussed the chronology of the mobilization and formation process of these troops in conjunction with their territorial location, as well as
their armament and numbers.
