Yuri Mher Alevoryan (April 10, 2001, Kapan – October 23, 2020 Martuni-2).
He studied in Kapan secondary school # 6. Then he continued his education in Kapan college # 3, choosing a hairdresser’s profession. On July 5 2019 he moved to serve in army. He served in Martuni-2 military unit in Artsakh, as an artilleryman. Yuri died just on his position on battle field, from enemy’s bomb explosion. On battle field, everybody called him Monte. He had a title of Hero. Yuri had a lot of dreames, but first of all, he desired to become famous hairdresser. In addition, he was engaged in sports. Yuri liked his dog very much, which name was Gangster. The Testimony, that is illustrated on photo below, was in Yuri’s military car. The car was burned by the enemy’s bomb explosion, but the book remained in this condition, almost unharmed. There are a lot of fragments concerning war operations. Somebody told us, that Yuri didn’t afraid the enemy’s firefighting and helped soldiers, when the car was damaged. Watching all this, an officer said him: “Soldier, say your name, I will meet you after the war and will appreciate for your bravery”. But alas he died on October 23. Yuri was honorary citizen of Kapan. The 4a classroom in Kapan secondary school #6 is named after him. He was awarded medals “For bravery” and 1-st degree “Martial Cross” postmortal.
