In the Karmir region of the Sevan basin, famous “Cross” type rugs were made, of which one of the 19th century samples reached us in a fragmented state. In the centre of the rug field is a cross shield with symbols of sun, tree, thunder deity, dragon snake, and rain. In other parts of the rug field there are stylised images of trees, serpents, and luminaries.
